CADstudio Anaglyph is an add-on utility for AutoCAD 2013+, Inventor 2013+ and Revit 2013+ (both 32/64-bit). This .NET tool creates red-cyan 3D anaglyphs from current views of 3D CAD models inside the CAD applications.
Install Anaglyph from the respective Autodesk Apps store and then run the Anaglyph icon from the application ribbon (Plug-ins).
After you start the ANAGLYPH command, the application creates a 3D anaglyph image of the current perspective view of your CAD model. You can specify the eye distance (intensity of 3D effect), the pixel resolution of the resulting PNG image and its visual style (you can usually achieve best results with Realistic or Conceptual styles). PNG file is stored in the same folder and under the same name (suffix "-ANA.PNG") as the current DWG file.
You can also use the ANAGLYPHOPTIONS command to specify saving of separate PNG files for the left and right view, e.g. to combine them to 3D (e.g. with StereoPhotoMaker) and use the results with other methods of 3D viewing (e.g. active shutter or polarized 3D glasses, 3D monitors). The options command can also setup the view plane for anaglyphs (above or below the monitor plane).
You can use Anaglyph with any type of 3D objects in AutoCAD DWG files. Zoom and adjust the view direction of your perspective view before starting the ANAGLYPH command.
See also AutoCAD 3D Plot for interesting parametric 3D surfaces.
The "Inventor Anaglyph" application from Autodesk Apps Exchange creates a new icon in the Plug-ins ribbon. The Anaglyph command lets you specify the eye distance (by default: 1/10 of the view vector size) and the output resolution of the anaglyph raster image.
The 3D image is rendered in the current visual style and in the current view direction. The view is switched to perspective. The resulting PNG file is stored in the same folder and under the same name as the current IPT or IAM model.
Anaglyph is part of the Revit Tools application available as trial version on Autodesk Apps Exchange (CADstudio Revit Tools). Anaglyph (unlike the other Revit Tools functions) doesn't expire so you can use it as a freeware.
Specify the eye distance, the output resolution and Anaglyph creates an anaglyph (PNG file) from your current 3D view in the RVT project. Start it in a non-perspective 3D view (it creates its own temporary perspective).
Anaglyph was tested on AutoCAD 2013, Inventor 2013-2018 and Revit 2013, 32-bit and 64-bit, in Windows 8, 7 or XP.
The automatic plug-in installation mechanism installs the plugins in a subfolder of (in XP):
C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data\Autodesk\ApplicationPluginsor (in Win7/Vista):
C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins-- and Anaglyph will be loaded automatically.
